During the wellness exam, Dr. Sidorsky will also confirm that your pet is up-to-date on all core vaccinations. Pet vaccinations protect against highly contagious illnesses including parvo, distemper and rabies, which can easily spread between pets. In the case of rabies, this deadly disease can also affect humans. All pet should receive the puppy/kitten shot series and then be re-vaccinated against these diseases with booster shots after one year. Subsequent booster shots may be every one or three years, based on the vaccine manufacturer’s recommendations and your pet’s health needs. Our Dr Sidorsky works closely with pet owners to determine the right vaccine schedule for your pet’s health needs. Depending on your pet’s lifestyle, we may recommend additional vaccines, such bordetella, which protects against kennel cough or a more limited vaccination schedule to include only rabies vaccinations.
